It’s hard to put into words how excited we are to finally be saying this… there’s just over a week to go until we reopen on Tuesday the 7th of July! Our tables and chairs have been delivered today, the finishing touches are being added, and we can finally see the pub we’ve been dreaming of. As a family, we’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has helped make this refurbishment happen. The team have worked tirelessly, especially in this heat, and the effort they’ve put in has been incredible. For us, this has never just been about giving the pub a fresh look. It’s about creating a place where friends meet, families celebrate, neighbours catch up and everyone feels welcome. We feel incredibly lucky to be part of such a supportive community, and we can’t wait to open the doors again and welcome you all back. If you’ve walked past recently, you’ll probably have noticed plenty of dust and a lot of activity! As a family-run business, this refurbishment means so much to us, and it’s been amazing to see everything starting to come together. We’ve got a beautiful new bar taking shape, new gaming area starting to come together, the toilets have had a refresh, new flooring is going down, and there’s fresh look throughout. There’s still plenty to do, but we wanted to say a huge thank you for all your patience and support while we’ve been closed. The encouragement from our local community really does mean the world to us. Behind the scenes, everyone is working incredibly hard to make sure everything is perfect, and we genuinely can’t wait to welcome you all back through the doors. Seeing familiar faces, catching up with old friends and creating new memories is what it’s all about for us. We’re so proud of how it’s looking already, and we can’t wait to share it with you. We may not be pulling pints but we are all hard at work behind the scenes getting ready to deliver a fantastic service to you all This week meet Grace! My star of the week for working hard while off, completing all her online training! 🌟 As one of our longest serving members of staff, Grace is happy to help wherever! You can usually find her being the warm welcome behind the bar, grafting hard in the kitchen and occasionally with a glass or rosé in her hand when shes off shift 🥂 Grace loves to work on pool nights supporting teams in all their matches, win or lose! & Also on weekends helping people celebrate for any occassion 🥂 💬When asked Grace said "my favourite part of The Black Bull has to be the customers, every shift theres always someone there that makes my day a bit brighter, whether they realise it or not" We're lucky to have Grace as part of our team, and sure many of you will recognise the friendly face behind that quote! Although the pub is still shut, we are still training and supporting our staff, just like how we all should be, the England boys. 1 - Final Team talk before kickoff: press high, chase everything, no chewing the match ball. 2 - England’s number 9 after discovering the ball is, in fact, life. 3 - When the ref adds 6 minutes, and you have already given 110%. 4 - Both stepping up for the free kick … neither planning to leave it. 5 - Those pesky water breaks … always interrupting our winning counterattack.
